WHO QUALIFIES FOR  VAT EXEMPTION ?

You can claim VAT exemption on wigs if you are chronically ill or have a disability or medical condition.

This can include  i.e. alopecia, whilst undergoing chemotherapy treatment or other medical reasons you might experience hair loss.

You do not need to be registered disabled or eligible for any other benefit to qualify for VAT-free goods, however, you must have a medical condition to be eligible under the HMRC category of “chronically sick or disabled”.

For VAT purposes, the term ‘chronically sick or disabled’ does not include a person who’s only temporarily disabled (eg has a broken hand )  or incapacitated, for example someone who’s elderly but is not chronically sick or disabled.

HOW DO I CLAIM VAT EXEMPTION?

Log in or Sign Up to a new account and fill out the VAT exemption form. When you place an order for WIGS make sure that you are logged in and click the correct VAT exempt check boxes at the checkout.

There are penalties for making false declarations. WHICH PRODUCTS CAN I CLAIM VAT EXTENTION FOR?

Under HMRC rules VAT exemption only applies to wigs.

All other products, including brushes, shampoos, turbans. toppers, extentions, hairpieces and ponytail are not able to be made VAT exempt.

WHY CAN'T I PLACE AN ORDER with VAT EXEMPT and NON VAT EXEMPT ORDERS TOGETHER?

At present our CRM and Payment system can only process an order that is all items that are VAT exempt or all items that are NOT VAT exempt, it cannot process a mixed order.

If you wish to place an order of both VAT exempt items (Eg a wig or two or more wigs) please log in (or sign up) to your account, check your details and VAT exempt form is up to date and place your order with VAT exempt items.

Then LOG OUT of your account, add the items that are NOT VAT exempt to your cart and place an order as a 'guest'.

If you are placing an order as a 'Guest' and have already purchased VAT exempt items, you will receive a code to use to remove the value of the postage back from your order.

WILL I HAVE TO PAY POSTAGE TWICE?

If you are placing an order as a 'Guest' and have already purchased VAT exempt items, you will receive a code to use to remove the value of the postage back from your order. *Code value is max £5.95.

Where items are in stock your VAT and NON-VAT orders will be dispatched together.
