We use three main types of fibres in all our wigs and hairpieces.

For synthetic and Tru2Life wigs, hairpieces and extensions, we highly recommend our specially formulated range of 'Synovation' aftercare products.

    1) Synthetic : Many of our wigs and pieces are created with a type of sythetic fibre that looks and feels completely natural. It is often called Kanekalon, Synthetic, or Whisperlite. All need particular care.

    2) Styleable Synthetic: Often called Tru2life, Fibre + or just styleable synthetic. These fibres look and feel natural, can be gently styled with heat.

    3) Human Hair: We stock various types of high-quality human hair. Sometimes called Remi or Deluxe. All are 100% human hair and responsibly sourced.

    SYNTHETIC AFTERCARE:

All our hairpieces are made from the highest quality synthetic fibre that is designed to look and feel just like real hair. To ensure these stay looking their best we suggest you care for these in the following way.

How to style your new hair piece

The style of the hairpiece has a 'memory' that will return to it once it has dried, eliminating the need for heat styling. Hairspray may be used to fix the style or if a glossy finish is wanted use a fibre oil. Please use specialist products that are soluble in cool water such as the Synovation products.

Hairpieces do not need to be washed as frequently as your own hair. We suggest you wash them every 10th wear or so, depending on how you have been wearing them.

Gently remove tangles from the wig with fingers or a tangle teezer. Do not brush.
To wash use a special mild shampoo such as Synovation & cool water, soak 5 minutes and rinse thoroughly. Do not rub.
To soften and smooth the fibre use a conditioning soak such as the Synovation revitaliser.
Dab gently with towel to remove excess water. Do not brush or comb while wet as this will stretch the fibre.
    Hang to air dry.
Do not use heat- either blow dryer or hair tongs to style.
Please keep the hairpiece away from sources of heat (such as when you open the oven door) as this may cause the fibres to melt.

    STYLEABLE SYNTHETIC AFTERCARE:

How to care for your Tru2life/Stylable Synthetic hair extensions and hair pieces

All our hairpieces are made from the highest quality synthetic fibre that is designed to look and feel just like real hair. Whilst our synthetic fibre products are of the best quality available, a little extra care must be taken on longer length styles both after purchase and prior to wearing.

As above, we suggest our specially formulated ‘Synovation’ range. We would also suggest the following guidelines to help maintain your longer length hairpiece: It is advisable to use Synovation Fibre Oil after purchasing your long length style and prior to wearing it. Spray your hairpiece from approximately 8 inches distance, to the underneath nape area of the piece and comb gently with fingers or with a Tangle Teezer. This will help to prevent your piece from frizz, which is often caused by friction between the hair and clothing or with body contact.

To Style your Tru2life/Stylable Synthetic hair extensions and hair pieces

To create a curl, use hot rollers, a curling wand or tongs, create the curl as desired then pin the curl and leave to cool completely . This 'resets' the fibre memory and holds the curl. To straighten, run your tongs over small sections and hold straight until completely cool to 'reset' the fibre memory to straight. Use a finishing spray to help set the style that is cool water soluble such as the Synovation Finishing Spray.

The TTru2life/Stylable Synthetic ibre in addition allows styles that have this technology to be heat styled. To ensure these stay looking their best we suggest you care for these in the following way.

Hairpieces do not need to be washed as frequently as your own hair. We suggest you wash them every 10th wear or so, depending on how you have been wearing them.

Hang the hair extensions to air dry or use a blow dryer on a low setting..

    HOW TO WASH A WIG:

Watch this video which shows you how to gently wash a wig:

    1. Before shampooing, gently remove any tangles with your fingers or a pick comb. Fill a basin with cold water (never use hot water) and add a cap full of Synovation shampoo.
    2. Immerse the hair into the basin and soak for 3-5 minutes, gently swishing up and down.
    3. Rinse thoroughly in cold water to get rid of any residue.
    4. Follow this up by using the same procedure with the Synovation Revitalizer, however, do not rinse out the Revitalizer.
    5. Do not squeeze or twist the hair but dab, very gently with a towel so as to remove excess water.
    6. Hang the piece on a wig stand or a styling head and allow to air-dry at room temperature. (For human hair wigs and hairpieces, you can of course, heat-style the pieces to dry them).
    7. Whilst the piece is still slightly damp, shake and spritz with Synovation Conditioner, as this will coat the fibres of your hairpiece and keep it fresh and deodorised.
    8. Finish the look with a quick mist of Synovation Finishing Spray, which works as a hairspray and will set your style into place without any stiffness. It’s also incredibly easy to brush or wash out.
    9. Shampoo as above.
    10. Spray condition and heat-style to your requirements using gentle heat.
    11. Although our human hair products are suitable for colouring and for use with heated utensils, we recommend that you exercise care, for example, carrying out patch tests before colouring and limiting any processes to a minimum.
